9/14/2018 0 Comments Friday 9/14/2018So it has been a while... what we did this past week
1) Review Earth Layers vocabulary (inner core, outer core, mantle, crust, asthenosphere, lithosphere) 2) Liquid Layers demo and discussion about density (more dense=heavier, sinks to the bottom. less dense=lighter, rises to top) 3) Sink or Float Density lab started Wednesday, will wrap up on Monday. Here is the plan for next week: Monday- Finish Sink or Float lab, introduce convection currents Tuesday- Convection Currents demo, DIY lava lamp Wednesday- No School (Yom Kippur) Thursday- Earth Layers review (Kahoot- bring devices!) Friday- Earth Layers test What has gotten shifted to the following week: - Continental Drift/Plate Tectonics pre-assessment - Continental Drift/Plate Tectonics notes - Plate Boundaries notes - Sea-Floor Spreading model -Candy Bar lab (plate tectonics) I will be checking Daily Summaries for 9/10-9/12 on Monday. All current grades are up-to-date on PowerSchool. To answer your questions, here is the grade breakdown for the Daily Summaries. In an ideal week you should have 4 summaries (Monday night- Thursday night). Each summary is worth 25 points for a total of 100 points per week for daily summaries. If we have a four day week, you will have 3 summaries. Each worth 33.33 so that you can still earn a total of 100 points for the week. This past week we had a three day week due to weather. I still want you to complete three summaries BECAUSE Thursday was a last minute school cancellation and you were assigned a daily summary when Thursday was still an Early Release. Hope that clears up any confusion! - T
